Sex Hormone Binding Globulin
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG), also known as Testosterone-estradiol Binding Globulin (TeBG), is a plasma protein the binds to and transports three sex hormones: dihydrotestosterone (DHT), estrogen, and testosterone.
Elevated levels of SHBG are associated with hepatitis, hyperthyroidism, and HIV infection. Low levels of SHBG sometimes occur with obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, and acromegaly (excessive growth hormone production).
Please note SHBG is purified from a starting material that is no longer available. As such, availability is limited to the stock on-hand. Click to inquire about pricing and availability.
