C-Reactive Protein

C-Reactive protein (CRP) is best known as an acute phase protein and marker of inflammation, but plasma levels are also elevated in a large number of malignancies. Not a specific marker, CRP is associated with several types of cancer, including breast, colon, esophageal, gastrointestinal, head and neck, liver, non-small cell lung, pancreatic, rectal, and others. Although it is not specific, it is a useful biomarker in that CRP plasma levels may correlate with risk, disease severity, prognosis, and/or overall survival.

Highly-purified CRP and anti-CRP monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies are available to support your research and immunoassay development efforts.

  • Cancer Marker for Calibrators & Control Development
