α2 Macroglobulin (A2M)

Background Information:

α2 Macroglobulin (A2M) belongs to the α2-globulin family of human plasma proteins and functions as an inhibitor of proteases of all classes. A2M is also involved in the fibrinolytic system and the transport of zinc. It is also known to promote the growth of mammalian cells in culture and stimulate the regeneration of lymphocytes in mice. Elevated serum levels of A2M are associated with liver cirrhosis, nephritic syndrome, diabetes, and severe burn cases. A2M is also being investigated in the diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Scripps Laboratories is a world-leading producer and supplier of purified human A2M. Products are prepared on-site and shipped to you directly. For Bulk Discounts or additional product information, please use the button below to send us a note.
